Theoretical analysis of a novel combined cooling, heating, and power (CCHP) cycle
This study presents a theoretical analysis of a new combined cooling, heating, and power cycle by the novel integration of an organic Rankine cycle (ORC), an ejector refrigeration cycle (ERC), and a heat pump cycle (HPC) for producing cooling output, heating output, and power output simultaneously. Three different working fluids—namely R113, isobutane, and R141b—have been used in power, ref...
متن کاملHeat exchanger technology and applications: ground source heat pump system for buildings heating and cooling
The earth’s surface acts as a huge solar collector, absorbing radiation from the sun. In the UK, the ground maintains a constant temperature of 11-13oC several metres below the surface all the year around.1 Among many other alternative energy resources and new potential technologies, the ground source heat pumps (GSHPs) are receiving increasing interest because of their potential to reduce prim...
متن کاملOptimization of a transcritical CO2 heat pump cycle for simultaneous cooling and heating applications
Energetic and exergetic analyses as well as optimization studies of a transcritical carbon dioxide heat pump system are presented in this article. A computer code has been developed to obtain sub-critical and super-critical thermodynamic and transport properties of carbon dioxide. Estimates for irreversibilities of individual components of the system lead to possible measures for performance im...
متن کاملPerformance of a Transcritical CO2 Heat Pump for Simultaneous Water Cooling and Heating
This paper presents the experimental as well as the simulated performance studies on the transcritical CO2 heat pumps for simultaneous water cooling and heating; effects of water mass flow rates and water inlet temperatures of both evaporator and gas cooler on the cooling and heating capacities, system COP and water outlets temperatures are investigated. Study shows that both the water mass flo...
